Father Frank Pavone and Saint Teresa of Calcutta

From the time he began leading Priests for Life in 1993, Fr. Frank Pavone maintained regular contact with Mother Teresa of Calcutta, including by phone conversations and visits, until the time of her death in 1997. Mother Teresa and Fr. Frank discussed pro-life strategy for ending abortion, and she greatly encouraged the specific ministry of Priests for Life.

Below are some of the things that Mother Teresa said about abortion, the pro-life movement, and Priests for Life.

Saint Teresa of Calcutta:  Pro-Life Quotes

But I feel that the greatest destroyer of peace today is abortion, because it is a war against the child, a direct killing of the innocent child, murder by the mother herself.

And if we accept that a mother can kill even her own child, how can we tell other people not to kill one another? How do we persuade a woman not to have an abortion? As always, we must persuade her with love and we remind ourselves that love means to be willing to give until it hurts. Jesus gave even His life to love us. So, the mother who is thinking of abortion, should be helped to love, that is, to give until it hurts her plans, or her free time, to respect the life of her child. The father of that child, whoever he is, must also give until it hurts.

By abortion, the mother does not learn to love, but kills even her own child to solve her problems.

And, by abortion, the father is told that he does not have to take any responsibility at all for the child he has brought into the world. That father is likely to put other women into the same trouble. So abortion just leads to more abortion.

Fr. Frank Pavone Hit Piece by Louie Verecchio

Over at Louie Verecchio’s blog he posted a vile article, “Pro-Lifeism: Worshiping the Human Embryo.”

Rather than condemn his article point-by-point, I post here my comment that is at the blog:

Comment by Nina D.M. Rhea

This pathetic, useless, and unkind hit piece on Father Frank Pavone is nasty. I’m a Trad Catholic who is consecrated to Our Lady via the Mission Immaculatae. I suggest Mr. Verecchio do the same. She will soften your approach to hot topics. That is what she has done for me.

This nasty hit piece accomplishes the following:
-Puts a bad light on Trad Catholics.
-Curses pro-life activists.
-Condemns Fr. Frank Pavone.
-Highlights Mr. Verecchio’s temptations toward Gnosticism.

There is no such thing as “embryo worship.” In fact, I was accused of “fetal worship” by a vehemently pro-abortion member of NARAL at a protest.

Human offspring aka embryos are in great danger. They are being Cannibalized By Humanity. Write about that why don’t you.

Fr. Pavone has done a yeoman’s work to raise awareness among bishops, priests and the laity about the demonic abortion racket. He deserves your praise not condemnation. So what if he rattles your sensitivities? Who the hell are you to complain?

Fr. Frank Pavone: To Humanize the Unborn Baby Is Purpose of Those Videos

I woke up this morning thinking about that stupid lion.  His name was Cecil.  The CEO of PPFA is Cecile.

One thing I know for certain is that in the 21st Century, the humanization of animals has moved way beyond cute stories for children.  While during the same period of time, the dehumanization of unborn human babies is big business.

From LifeSiteNews

In an interview with LifeSiteNews, Fr. Frank Pavone, one of the pro-life leaders behind the release of the video series, said,

“When an abortionist dehumanizes the baby that he or she is about to kill, the abortionist also dehumanizes himself. And this is what we are seeing in these people. We see it in Deborah Nucatola sipping the wine and eating the salad and talking about the body parts.”

Pavone said one of the main objectives of the video series was to humanize the unborn baby. “When people see and hear terms like ‘eyes, livers, hearts’ it’s like, ‘What are we talking about here? This is ghoulish disgusting activity.’”  Full story.

Wesley J. Smith wrote a fascinating and detailed book exposing the animal rights movement.  Two days ago he posted a blog about that lion:  Cecil’s killer violated human exceptionalism.

Fr. Frank Pavone’s last EWTN homily

Sep. 13 on YouTube.  26 min.

Audio and Video of this homily are also available on the Priests for Life website; the title there is “What we should remember about our priests.”

  • All of you, especially preachers listening to me right now, well maybe you are thinking “the people are not ready!”
  • Every vocation is about being open to life.
  • We as priests have to give the full, clear Word!
  • St. Chrysostom worked for the reform of the clergy; and he was an outstanding preacher because he knew this:  we are ordained to give the fullness of the Word.
  • You, the laity, have a right to hear the full message!
  • We at Priests for Life are working for reform of the clergy.
  • We hear it every day, “Why aren’t our preachers preaching about abortion?”
  • Let’s pray for the renewal of the clergy.
