Death Education and Suicidal Mass Murderers

If you know about death education in schools, leave a comment!  Thank you.

Since the 1980’s, public school curricula have been exposing K-12 students to humanistic psychology in the form of  “ethical / moral dilemma” exercises, among others.  This is death education.  It’s in all our schools.

We have many ideas about what led up to the mass murder of children in Sandy Hook CT.  We’re not alone.  The Eagle Forum, home school families, The Manhattan Institute, Dr. Samuel L. Blumenfeld, among other conservatives, know more than most will admit about public schools are exposing our children to.  Read on.

The title of the essay of the first-prize winner provides food for thought. It was written by 18-year-old Megan Brennan and was titled “Thinking About Death Is Just for Old People, Right?”

Whether or not thinking about death is for old people, encouraging young people to reflect on suicide is a bad idea.

According to, drawing on statistics from the Centers for Disease Control, while suicide as a whole has dropped from 13.2 per 100,000 persons in 1950 to 10.8 in 2003, suicide among those aged 5-14 has tripled from 0.2 to 0.6 per 100,000.

In the same time period suicide among those aged 15-19 has more than tripled, rising from 2.7 per 100,000 to 7.3 per 100,000.  In 2007, the CDC reported that suicide is the fourth leading cause of death for Americans age 10-14, the third leading cause of death for Americans aged 15-24, and the second leading cause of death for Americans aged 25-34.

The Sandy Hook killer was a suicidal mass murderer.

Our public schools are endangering our children with DEATH EDUCATION.  They’re playing with FIRE!

Dr. Samuel L. Blumenfeld:

“The literacy scandal is only one reason why parents are now home schooling.  Other reasons?  There are over four million kids on Ritalin and other drugs; mind-repelling academic chaos in the classroom; a Mickey-Moused curriculum of excruciating boredom; pornographic sex education; school massacres; anti-American multiculturalism; depressing death education; values clarification that leads to family conflicts; teaching techniques based on Skinnerian operant conditioning (your child is an animal and being trained like one); drug education that dare children to try it.

“In short, if you love your kids, get them out! “

“Death Education at Columbine High School” by Dr. Blumenfeld:

Death education has been a part of the progressive curriculum in virtually every public school in America for at least the last fifteen years. Yet no one in the establishment, let alone the U.S. Department of Education, has sought to find out what death education is doing to the minds and souls of the millions of children who are subjected to it. But we do have plenty of
anecdotal information on hand.

For example, back in 1985, Tara Becker, a student from Columbine High, went to a pro-family conference in Colorado to tell the attendees about death education at the school and the effect it had on her. Jayne Schindler, who heard Tara’s testimony, reported:

·         Tara brought with her a booklet she had helped to compile for one of her school classes. This booklet was called “Masquerade” and was full of subliminal pictures and prose.  Tara explained how she had been taught to use the hidden, double meaning, subliminals and how she had focused so much of her time and attention on death that she, herself, had tried
to commit suicide.

  • “Some have blamed death education classes for the suicides of two
students who attended courses in Illinois and Missouri. Other students
have suffered traumatic reactions. Minimally trained or untrained
teachers have asked first graders to make model coffins out of shoe
boxes; other students have been instructed to sit in coffins, measure
themselves for caskets, list 10 ways of dying (including violent death), attend an embalming and touch an undraped corpse.”

‘What Caused Columbine?” – Phyllis Schlafly

Values Clarification is a book of 79 [moral] dilemmas for the teacher to present to the students.  The most frequently used classroom dilemma is the “lifeboat game” (and its numerous variations, such as the fallout shelter).  The student is told there are ten people in a sinking lifeboat and four must be thrown out to drown so that the other six may live.  The student is vested with the authority to decide who lives and who dies.  Shall it be the famous author, or the pregnant woman, or the rabbi, or the Hollywood dancer, or the policeman?

n 1987 Eagle Forum of Colorado produced a two-hour video in which student Tara Becker spoke at length about the relentless focus on death, dying and suicide in her junior class at Columbine High School in Littleton, Colorado. She and several of her classmates attempted suicide as a result of this depressing curriculum, and it took them many months to recover from the experience.
